Peer Review of Full Papers
If you have nominated for your paper to be an Oral Presentation with Full Paper (Peer Review) please find below further details as outlined by GPEAN Steering Committee Co-Chair Johanna Looye:

We would like to remind you of the clarification posted on the web page along with the guidelines for submitting abstracts:

A peer review option for full papers is being considered for the first time at WPSC2011 in an effort to respond to academic/faculty funding prerequisites that requires delegates in certain institutions/planning schools regions to have their papers peer reviewed in order to attend and participate in academic conferences. This policy is subject to further review and final adoption. This option will be available for ANZAPS faculty or other faculty who provide documentation of a requirement for such review.

The volume of requests for full paper review was far beyond the capacity of track co-chairs to undertake, so we are currently limiting the full paper reviews to members of ANZAPS. Any members of other associations who truly require such review should provide their Steering Committee representative (available on the GPEAN web site http://www.gpean.org/) with a request for a full paper review, along with compelling documentation that this review is necessary in order to receive funding to attending the meeting.

Note: Compelling would be something along the lines of a standing university policy, and generally not a simple letter from a department head.

We ask your understanding in this matter. It is clear that we would all prefer to have our papers peer-reviewed. Few of us would volunteer to peer review 20-30 papers, however. In order to accommodate those individuals who will not be able to attend without the full paper review, please don’t request this unless it is absolutely necessary. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation!

All papers without the necessary requests will be converted into “Oral Presentation with full paper (peer review of abstract).

Your supporting documentation confirming your requirement for peer review is required by Friday 18 March 2011.
